Attention LT, HT Consumers, Install Sterling APFCS to Avail the Following Benefits
  • To avoid Penalties
  • To reduce energy Bills up to 15%
  • To Earn incentive up to 5% of your energy charges from TNEB
  • To Optimize your maximum demand by 2%.
Techno-Economic Advantages of APFCS
  • Ensure required average power factor under all load conditions, thus avoiding PF penally and earning PF incentives
  • Minimizes KVA Demand charges. Hence additional loads could be connected
  • Reduces energy charge due to lower losses in distribution network
  • Increase life of capacitors by limiting inrush current during switching and thus economical in long run
  • No limits on number of switching in a day
  • No wear and tear due to use of trigger switching in a day
Technical Specifications
  • Micro controller based with preset target Power factor with non-volatile memory
  • Four digit seven segment display to display the system power factor
  • Single Phase Electronic measurement system for connection to phase-phase Voltage, 400-440V, 50cps.
  • Output through contractors according to the number of steps required and as per the capacitor load
  • Automatic disconnection of all the capacitors after 35 msec, if there is a power Failure and automatic switching is restored 90 seconds after reset
  • System is enclosed in a MS Cabinet with proper ventilation.
What is Power Factor ?
Power Factor is a measure of how efficiently the power generated is being utilized technically, it is equal to the consine of the angle between working power and the Apparent Power.

PF = Cos O = KW / KVA.

How to do power factor correction ?
Power Factor correction is to reduce the amount of reactive power taken from the network. This is compensated with the power generated by the capacitors, keeping the network in balanced situation. Traditionally, in all companies capacitors are in the electrical system and it is kept ON for the whole day whether the machines are running or hot. This gives a overall negative impact in the system. The capacitors has to be switched ON only when it is required, there by the Power FActor is maintained at 0.99.

The difference with automatic power factor correction equipment and the traditional way of connecting the capacitor is that, the APFCS senses the incoming power factor and switches on the required capacitor bank as and when required.
